The Role of the SSIP Forum

The SSIP Forum serves as an umbrella organisation that facilitates mutual recognition among health and safety pre-qualification schemes whenever feasible. It actively advises and influences clients regarding the acceptable interpretation and relevance of health and safety competence standards within UK schemes. Additionally, it adheres to the core guidance on competence and training outlined in the Approved Code of Practice (ACoP) of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations.

As part of its registration process, Constructionline requires suppliers to complete a health and safety questionnaire. It’s important to note that this questionnaire is a self-certification of health and safety compliance; Constructionline does not verify the accuracy of the information provided, leaving this responsibility to the buyer. However, if an applicant is already registered with an SSIP health and safety competence assessment scheme, they are exempt from answering the health and safety questions.
